Authentic Italian Cooking Classes with Cecilia & Silver Fern Farms

During lockdown this year, I attended a virtual cooking class with Cecilia, an Italian Chef based here in Abu Dhabi aka @italiancookingmadesimple. I'd always wanted to learn how to cook fresh pasta, and she had a class on Pumpkin Ravioli! Needless to say, it was one of the most satisfying classes I'd ever attended- we didn't use any fancy equipment or ingredients and we all ate an incredible five-star lunch.

So I thought, why not create something spectacular like this for the La Carne community?

We worked together on a cooking class last July 25 that delivered an authentic Italian dish as well as offering a taste of the best Grass-fed beef in town from Silver Fern Farms New Zealand. What's more, 10% of all ticket sales went to Covid-19 Emergency Response Efforts by Penny Appeal Middle East via YallaGive!

Ingredients were delivered to our ten participants including the recipe and an apron. Some were families, some groups of friends and some just cooking for themselves. A great mix of cooks cooking in the comfort of their home!

Cecilia takes pride in making use of barely any equipment to prepare dishes, to show that Italian Cooking can indeed be made simply simple! The recipe we cooked was called Involtini di carne e verdure in padella- in other words, Beef Parcels with Pan Roasted Vegetables.

300g of thinly sliced Involtini went a long way per recipe box- prepared from Silver Fern Farms Prime Steer 100% Grass-fed Topside beef.

We were so proud of our participants and can't wait for our next chance to celebrate the art of cooking with loved ones! To watch the entire class, do check our Instagram Live Videos here.

Thanks for reading about our cooking class! We hope to see you at our next one which will be Angus Ribeyes with Eggplant Parmigiana on Sept 12! Contact us for more info/reserve a spot!

Best wishes,
